More about Gemma...
Starsign:
I'm an earthy and feminine Virgo!
1st job:
I don't think the paper round that only lasted for 2 weeks because I got bored counts, so probably working in a solicitors with my Nan when I was 14! One hour a day after school filing!
1st Song:
Jason Donovan or Kylie Minogue because I also had the videos!
School nickname:
If I tell you, I'll have to kill you.
Best radio moment:
Probably giving away a car live on air, and screaming more than the winner!
... And the worst:
Broadcasting live from the Netley Marsh Steam & Craft show, knee deep in mud! I was on air for 5 minutes, during the first song the organiser approached me to tell me they were closing! I still had 3 hours and 55 minutes left stuck in the mud!
What career would you have chosen if you weren't working in Radio?
I've always wanted to be a Lawyer, Air Hostess, Actress, Blue Coat at Pontins, Fitness Instructor or and an Ice Cream lady!
Best decision in life you ever made:
Turning down the job to be a Blue Coat with Pontins in Blackpool and taking my place at Broadcasting School to start this wonderful journey of Radio! Things could've been sooooo different....
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Easy! My name is Gemma and I am a shopaholic! Shoes glorious shoes, pointed stilettos and boots! I'm always in the mood for comfy sling backs or flats! Ok so the last part doesn't rhyme but hey, it's my song!
The things that really wind you up:
Other drivers! Slow ones and middle lane hoggers! Also queuing in shops!
Who would you most like to interview?
Alan Carr - he's a funny/chatty man
Best thing about Salisbury:
I've loved shopping here from the very first time I came here many moons ago! The people are lovely and there's a tea room round every corner with cream cakes.
Worst thing about Salisbury:
I'm yet to find it! Unless you count the main road into Salisbury during peak time!
A few of your favourite things...
Film:
I love the Sophie Kinsella's books, so definitely the film "Confessions of a Shopaholic". "Bridget Jones 1&2" (the third is on the way! Hooray!!) And any other feel good movie like Mamma Mia!
TV Show as a kid:
Postman Pat was my favourite! I even had a video that broke because of the amount of times I watched it! I also liked Rainbow!
TV show as an adult:
Really enjoyed the drama "Lost in Austen". I love Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty! Totally hooked
Artist:
Take That/Keane
