Digital Photography Evening Classes
Photography is so popular, but do all of us know how to make the most of our cameras and smartphones? There are numerous, easy-to-learn techniques that can easily improve photos. This could be your chance to learn from the experts.

A group of professional photographers is running a 10 week course at the Grasmere Hotel to raise funds for respected local charity, Hope and Homes for Children. The charity has an international reach and seeks to get children out of institutions and enable them to grow up in the love of a family. It has had many significant successes and aspires to have no more children in institutions.

Dale Nuag of the Grasmere Hotel is once more generously supporting Hope and Homes by donating the use of the hotel’s facilities.

It’s the seventh year that Hope and Homes has run this course. Last year’s course raised £3200 and the organising committee hope raise £5000 this time.

There will be ten evening classes on Monday nights starting February 29th, 7.30-9pm. A different topic is explored each week, from the very basics to portraits, holiday photography, pets, lighting and more. A typical lesson includes 45-60 minutes of instruction, 30-45 minutes of practical, and a presentation by a professional photographer. A full list of sessions can be seen at: http://www/swallowcliffe.com/photography-classes.htm

Last year’s student, Jonathan, describes the course as “One of my highlights of 2015.” Another student, Fiona, says, “I gained an incredible amount from the course….I would highly recommend it for beginners and semi-professionals alike. A rare opportunity to learn from the experts…All in the name of a very good cause!”

The cost of the course is £150 for all ten lessons including notes. All fees go directly to Hope and Homes for Children. Latecomers to the course are welcome if places are available. However, last year’s course was booked solid, and Chris Stanbury, Chair of the charity’s local committee, recommends booking soon.

An additional, a more advanced course dealing with post-processing is scheduled for the autumn.
