The Biscuit Tin
Studio Youth Theatre present The Biscuit Tin directed by Sally Marshall and written by 14 year old Bishop Wordsworth's School boy Benedict Barrett, who has been a member of Studio Youth Theatre for three years. A conversation with Peter Kelly, director of the last Youth Theatre show, Oliver Twist, resulted in the idea of Benedict taking up the challenge of writing a play for the next Youth Theatre production. It was 'a daunting challenge' and as 'I mulled over ideas for the play, the World War One centenary year came to mind. The play is about two lives , those of a veteran of the war and a young boy, that become inextricably intertwined through the shared horror of war. They are brought together by chance and united by an old, uninspiring Biscuit Tin'. Every member of the Youth Theatre is in the cast and the play is in two acts with a short interval. Tickets at £10/£8 concessions available from Salisbury Information Centre in Fish Row Tel 01722 342860 and all seats are numbered.
