Live Music FREE Concert: WW1 themed Singer Louise Jordan PLUS launch of ’Wiltshire at War’ Exhibit
As part of the Wiltshire at War’ HLF project Our 4th exhibit, ‘Keep the Home Fires Burning’ will look at day to day life across Wiltshire whilst many of the men were away at war. Women were called to step into roles that were previously reserved for the men, children were called to play their part and many new laws appeared in order to keep Great Britain producing, surviving and contributing to the massive allied war effort. The exhibit will be launched with live music from the fantastic WW1 themed singer Louise Jordan, who’ll be performing tracks from her latest album ‘No Pettitcoats Here’. The exhibit includes information panels with illuminating images, and is the fourth of five Wiltshire at War exhibits, which are part of Wiltshire County’s multi-year remembrance of the First World War. Stories have been gathered from all across Wiltshire to create it. It will remain at Athelstan Museum until 15th May.
