Local Radio Day

Spire FM will be joining other proper local radio stations across the UK to celebrate the 3rd Local Radio Day on Friday 25th May.

As well as all the usual things we do 365 days a year (play great songs; the latest local news; travel and weather), there’ll be extra chances to win and we'll be taking the radio station out on the road and into the local community.

  • Martin and Hen will be broadcasting the breakfast show from a local school
  • There will be extra chances to win cash prizes with Chris Wright
  • Listen out for live music throughout the day
  • Pat Sissons will be taking his show out of the studio and onto the streets of Salisbury

Listen is as we celebrate #properlocalradio

Why Are We Doing This?

Local Radio Day will celebrate the impact that proper local radio has on the communities it serves. Spire FM is proud to have been broadcasting to South Wiltshire and West Hampshire for over 20 years from studios at City Hall, Salisbury.

Other radio companies don't believe local radio is important but we do! We believe, when it is done properly, it can help change the lives of listeners and make a real and lasting impact on the area that it serves.

Local Radio Day celebrates the partnership that exists between radio stations and their listeners and sets out to demonstrate the difference that being local really makes.
