We are looking for an energetic, dynamic and experienced full time Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team!

The suitable candidate will be enthusiastic, passionate, reliable and have some relevant experience, qualifications and training, of working in a kitchen environment. 

We are a family-run business looking for new kitchen assistant to start working with us as soon as possible. We are a farm tourist attraction, with an on-site Kitchen, Café & Bar as well as a second seasonal café/takeaway bar and events kitchen. We are currently in the process of transitioning into a higher end food offering, and making some exciting steps towards achieving that and we are recruiting for new staff to work in the kitchen with our Head Chef.

All applicants must be:

  • Experienced with working in a kitchen environemnt
  • Have the relevant and appropriate experience of working within the catering industry
  • Quick to learn new skills
  • Well organised & good at listening
  • Good at working within a kitchen environment
  • Hard working in all capacities
  • Able to work independently and self motivate, as well as being a supportive member of the team

Daily duties will include (but will not be limited to):

• preparing meat, fish and vegetables for cooking
• scraping and washing vegetables and salads
• cooking and presenting food creatively
• monitoring production to maintain quality and consistent portion sizes
• working under pressure to make sure food is served on time
• keeping to hygiene, health and safety and licensing rules
• supporting chefs in a specific work section
• using a variety of kitchen equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters.
• unloading deliveries
• organising the storeroom
• washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls

Skills required:
• organisational and time management skills
• excellent communication and number skills
• the ability to stay calm under pressure
• carry out tasks quickly and competently
• to be able to pick up detailed instructions quickly and follow them closely

The aim is to diversify into providing a quality family, outdoor-based experience, anchored by a commercial vineyard producing premium English sparkling wine at one end and a farm park experience at the other.

The geographical position on the glorious Wiltshire and Hampshire border with fantastic facilities on-site, also enable the farm to offer a unique location for events, such as weddings. The Hostel on-site currently provides overnight accommodation, and this will also be developed over-time, to offer a boutique, farm-stay B&B.

Between £7.00 and £8.25 Per Hour
Salary dependant on experience and qualifications
