The Soldier

About:
By Rachel Wagstaff
A Mesh Theatre Production

Inspired by the life of one of England’s best-loved war poets Rupert Brooke and his contemporaries at the outbreak of WW1, The Soldier moves between London, Blandford Camp, Belgium and the Aegean where Brooke died on his way to fight in the Gallipoli campaign.

Captivating and surprisingly modern in its treatment of warfare and relationships, it was Rachel’s first play, launching a stellar career which includes stage adaptations of 'Birdsong', 'Flowers for Mrs Harris' and 'The Mirror Crack’d'.
