Treeplanting in Bemerton

Extinction Rebellion-Salisbury (XR-S) are putting our extra day this leap year, Saturday 29 February, to good use. We will be planting trees in Bemerton and are looking for people to help out.
The project has been developed in connection with Salisbury City Council and the Salisbury Wildlife Group of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. It is funded with £500 raised by the XR-S 'Bike Swarm' – a protest by bike-riding activists on Global Car Free Day last autumn that is similar to the ongoing monthly Street Swarm.
All are welcome. If you have a native tree you would like to plant – bring it along. A spade, if you can, but if not, that's fine as plenty of tools will be available. Weather permitting the 'Travelling Circus' information stands will also be set up, so that participants can also learn more about biodiversity loss and climate change.
