The town's Christmas lights switch on has been labelled as a great success.

Christmas in Fordingbridge was a big event for the town this year, with it finishing with Harry Redknapp switching on the lights, on Saturday (30th November).

There was a whole afternoon and evening of activities for locals and visitors including street performers, live music and a Santa's Grotto as the countdown to the festive season began.

The football manager,and latest winner of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here was given the honour of lighting up the Hampshire town.

Nicky Jenkins, Chair of Fordingbridge Events Group, said: 

"I would like to thank all of the committee, volunteers, sponsors of the Fordingbridge festival and the businesses who have helped shaped our event this year - and the local community for coming out and supporting us in their thousands. Christmas in Fordingbridge had a really lovely vibe and the feedback about the event has been fantastic!"

Streets performers and singers provided some different entertainment for visitors

But festive celebrations in the town aren't quite over yet, with people still able to visit Father Christmas in his grotto at Avonway Community Centre on the 7th, 14th and 21st and the Christmas What's Not for Sale window competition, which is running until the end of the month.
