Wiltshire Council Christmas Bin Collections 2019/20
Here's when your bin will be picked up over the festive season - with most LATER than normal

There'll be no collections at all on Christmas Day (Wednesday 25th December), Boxing Day (Thursday 26th) and New Year's Day (Wednesday 1st January 2020).

Catch up collections are planned for Saturday 28th December, Saturday 4th January and Saturday 11th January.

We're advised to leave out the black or blue bin as we would normally do on our collection week

These will be suspended from Monday 23rd December for just over two weeks and restart on Wednesday 8th January 2020.

Collections that week will be one day later than normal, with the collections returning to their normal days from Monday 13th January.

Green lidded bins won't be collected over the Christmas period

Wiltshire Council's given us some tips on recycling over the festive season:

  • Please put your bins out by 7.00am on your collection days
  • If you receive new electrical items for Christmas, please recycle your old ones at your local Household Recycling Centre
  • Please don't put old batteries in the bin as they can cause fires in the collection vehicles and at the waste treatment plant. These can be recycled at most shops that sell them and your local Household Recycling Centre
  • If you have too many glass bottles for your black box, leave the extra ones in a carrier bag next to it the box on your next collection day
  • Want to recycle your Christmas jumper? Don't forget you can put that, and other textiles, in a carrier bag in your black box
  • When it's time to take the Christmas cards down, these can be recycled in your blue lidded bin providing they are not shiny or glittery
  • If you can scrunch your used wrapping paper up and it doesn't bounce back, then this can be recycled in your blue lidded bin. Foil wrapping paper cannot be recycled

All of Wiltshire Council's household recycling centres (HRC) will close at 1.00pm on Christmas Eve (Monday December 24th).
