Half term holidays are upon us, here's our top 10 choices to keep the whole family entertained in and around Salisbury.

1) TAKE A SPOOKY WALK THROUGH SALISBURY'S HISTORY

There’s a full programme of Spooky Guided Walks including the Classic Ghost Walk (twice on Halloween)! The City Guides are also putting on a family friendly “Family Frighteners” walk at 6pm on Saturday 27th October.

2) SALISBURY GUILDHALL GHOST TOURS

Discover Salisbury’s gruesome history and delve into the spooky history of the Guildhall which dates back to 1795. A number of free tours take place from Sunday 28th October until Wednesday 31st October and are suitable for all ages.

3) HALF TERM FUN AT RIVERBOURNE COMMUNITY FARM

Come to the farm during half term (27th October - 4th November) and hunt for the pumpkins hiding around the farm. Find them all to win a prize! Have fun visiting the farm animals and searching the farm’s fields and hedgerows for materials to decorate your mischievous boggart. There’s also a Mosaic Drop In Workshop for families plus your chance to make your own Clay boggart.

Entry to the farm is free but some activities will require a charge.

4) HALLOWEEN IN WILTON

Cobbs at Wilton in Wilton Shopping Village are hosting a pumpkin carving session plus face painting and a fancy dress competition. It's on Halloween itself, Wednesday 31st October from 10am - 4pm. Charges apply. Details here.

5) HAPPY HALLOWEEN AT PAULTONS PARK

The friendliest, most frightful fun fest in the UK with all Halloween activities (until 5th November) included in park entry tickets. It’s open throughout Half Term.

6) CREATE A PLAY IN A DAY

Wiltshire Creative at Salisbury Playhouse are giving children a chance to work with theatre professionals to create a special show which will be performed to friends and family at the end of the session. Create a Play in a Day takes place on Monday 29th October. Charges apply, information here.

7) HALLOWEEN DISCO

Come and strut your stuff to the Charity Halloween disco at Britford Hall on Sunday 28th October from 5-7pm. There are prizes for the best child and adult fancy dress and all money raised will go toward the Stars Appeal MRI Scanner Fund at Salisbury District Hospital.

8) TEENAGE MARKET

The Salisbury Teenage Market on Saturday 27th October is a free platform for young people wanting to promote their skills and business ideas. There’s also live music and performances at the event held at Guildhall Square, Salisbury.

9) SALISBURY MUSEUM DISCOVERY DAY

Come and make some really scary masks for Halloween with artist Liza Morgan in two sessions 10am- 12.30pm & 1.30-4pm. There’s also some monster tales at 11am and 2pm. Sessions are free but normal admission charges apply to the museum.

10) PUMPKIN CARVING
