New scholarships launched at Salisbury Cathedral School

The school, based in the Bishop's Palace in the Cathedral Close, is offering places to children from September 2019.

Scholarships will be awarded to children for the duration of their time at the school.

That's on the expectation that they continue to develop and make progress at the expected rate.

The school has a unique setting within the 800 year old Bishop's Palace, inside the walls of the iconic Salisbury Cathedral, with 21st century classroom settings.

They take both day and boarding pupils aged 3 to 13 years old.

At 13, students transfer to a diverse range of senior schools.

Last academic year, 14 pupils out of the 18 pupils in the year group achieved Academic, All-Rounder, Music, Drama, DT and Sport scholarships to leading public schools.

Three of them were awarded a specialist music scholarships at one of the country's leading music schools, Wells Cathedral School.

Headmaster Clive Marriott of Salisbury Cathedral School (SCS) said:

"Our focus is on the pastoral care and guidance that we provide for all our boys and girls; it is a place where personality grows. SCS children may find their unique sense of character through the music they sing or play, on the sports field or in one of the many opportunities available to them - probably in a number of different areas.

"All our pupils are nurtured in our happy, thriving environment and are encouraged to participate fully in all aspects of their school life. Scholars are expected are expected to set the highest standards within their disciplines and in return the school will ensure they are supported to develop within their disciplines and become immersed in Salisbury Cathedral School life."
