Christmas Road Jams 2018 (INRIX/RAC)

We're being warned to avoid these roads if possible

WORST ROADS FOR DELAYS

The A303 is always hit over the Christmas period and the RAC are predicting that it will be badly affected on Saturday 22nd December, with delays of up to half an hour.

They've warned motorists against hitting the road on 'frantic' Friday and avoid travelling on Saturday if possible.

As many as 20, million trips will be made over the next 5 days.

However, it may be the days after Christmas that could be the busiest as RAC and Inrix reveal.

"When it comes to pure leisure journeys over Christmas, traffic is likely to peak on Boxing Day when some 6.8 million individual trips will be made as drivers cross the country to see family and friends, followed by Thursday 27th December when 4.4 million journeys are expected to be taken."
