'A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood...' and found a Gruffalo coin!

The Royal Mint have released the three coins today (19th February 2019) for the 20th anniversary of the children's book.

WHO IS THE GRUFFALO?

If you don't know... where have you been for the past 20 years?!

The book, written by Julia Donaldson, tells the story of a mouse's walk through the woods, trying to use clever tricks to evade danger.

He tells the dangerous animals he encounters that he's going to dine with his friend, the gruffalo, although he believes him to be fictional.

What he doesn't bargain for... is that there is a real gruffalo!

You can try to get your limited edition coin here... but hundreds of thousands of people have attempted to today, with the Royal Mint apologising for delays on their site.
