With parents becoming increasingly concerned about their children's online safety, we've been looking for some alternative options available to kids.

Recent concern about the 'Momo Challenge' has led to police issuing tips to keep children protected from harmful content.

But the internet can still be a great educational resource that helps children to learn and satisfy their curiosity for life. is a relatively new search engine, powered by Google Safe Search but is not affiliated with Google Inc.

It was registered in 2014 but has gained popularity over recent years.

The websites included in a 'Kiddle search' are recommended by educators, librarians and parents from around the world.

Content has all been 'safe-checked' and hand-picked by Kiddle editors.

How is Kiddle designed specifically for Kids?

Google safe search prevents children from accessing explicit content online.

  • Big thumbnails: they serve as "visual clues" and are especially beneficial to kids as they don't read as fast as adults.

  • Large Arial font
