The Salisbury based charity has a stand at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Horatio's Garden has been setting up special open spaces for spinal injuries patients and their families at hospitals for the last seven years.

The first was created at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Unit at Salisbury District Hospital in 2012, and was created by multiple Chelsea Gold Medal winner Cleve West.

The charity has a long association with other Chelsea award winners too - with the Glasgow, Stoke Mandeville and London gardens designed by prominent horticulturalists.

The charity's stand is a way of raising the profile of the charity even further.

It comes just a couple of weeks after Princess Eugenie was announced as a patron of the charity, as she has personal experience of spinal treatment.

The charity's been at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for a number of years, and is also taking the opportunity to sell their merchandise.

Special edition Emma Bridgewater mugs and wooden keyrings are help to raise funds to keep the gardens maintained.

As well as the initial building costs for the gardens, with two under construction and an appeal starting soon for the sixth one around the country - it costs the charity more than £30,000 a year for the upkeep of each site.

Tom Stuart-Smith, who has designed Horatio's Garden London said:

"We all know that gardening has this enormous impact on the quality of people's lives. Here is something that offers hope, change, and growth."

This June will also see the charity's Fabulous Summer Tea Party Week taking place (3rd to 9th June) with events planned by supporters and at each of the Horatio's Gardens.

That campaign's had the backing of acting legend Joanna Lumley.
