The team at Swedish Den say they're surprised by how many Scandinavians there are in South Wiltshire!

The Catherine Street cafe has been open for a few weeks now, and it's already becoming a hub for people hailing from Sweden and wanting their own taste of home!

Owner Rebecca McKay has been busy developing their menu, full of Swedish traditional dishes.

As well as the meatballs and open sandwiches we'd come to expect from Scandinavian cuisine, there's also plenty of local delicacies available to take home and try for yourself.

Swedish Den is also hoping to become a family favourite for people in Salisbury.

They've transformed part of their site into a play area for little ones - and some kids at heart too!

The already well loved play area is proving to be a great addition

As well as the toys, there's a retro gaming area, with old school Nintendo machines set up for customers to play on.

There's also a reassurance for parents with a CCTV screen from the play area visible throughout the cafe so they can keep an eye on their children.

Swedish Den is also joining forces with other businesses, by signing up to the Salisbury Indies group.

They're also using local suppliers like Wylye Valley Meats and Genius Coffee in Tisbury in their menu.

The success of Swedish Den so far has taken Rebecca by surprise - so much so that after only a couple of weeks, they're already looking to boost their staff numbers.

Help in the kitchen and with serving customers is where they're particularly looking for help.
