From this evening (Friday 5 July) and for the next few Fridays, it's really simple, bring a deck chair, and enjoy the music!

It signals the start of 7 weeks of live music in the city centre.

The idea, from Salisbury City Council, aims to kick start the weekends. They're putting a pop up bandstand in the market square tonight - and then every Friday night until the August bank holiday weekend.

WHO'S ON STAGE TONIGHT?

  • The local band Solarbird will be playing between 7pm and 9pm

ACTS TO COME OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS

Here's a run down of the other exciting bands who'll be making an appearance this summer:

  • 12th July - Treble makers
  • 19th July - Tramps & Amps
  • 26th July - Stoneheart
  • 2nd August - just because
  • 9th August - Fret n Keyz

Joanna Wood from the City Council told Spire FM News:

"My aim is to bring a bit of vibrancy and life to the City in the early evenings over the summer. People are welcome to simply bring a deck chair and enjoy the music!"
