Last year there was a competition to create a piece of art that would be displayed outside Shopmobility in Salisbury, now help's needed to put it together.

It was the Salisbury City Council's Communities Team that launched the competition, which asked people to design an image that would be put up in the Maltings Shopping Centre.

It had to have a theme of 'Celebrating Salisbury', and judges looked for a design that would represent the best of the city.

The design (which can be seen above) made by Christian community charity, Alabare was chosen as the winning favourite and will be created using hand-cut coloured vinyl.

Workshops, run by commissioned artist, Sif Wolthers, are now being organised so that locals can help build the design.

The City Council said:

"We are asking Salisbury residents to get involved in these fab workshops and take part in creating the design as part of a community art project. The final piece will be professionally printed and laminated to withstand time and weather and displayed outside Shopmobility."
