The charity Little Troopers is looking for snaps for local soldiers and their children to help raise funds throughout next year.

The photos will be used in their 'Military Moments' calendar for 2020, and they're after 'real-life, heart-warming photos that capture the special bond between forces children and their serving parents'.

Last year, a picture of 10 day old Evelyn Rose Pearson from Warminster was featured - she's in the beret of the Yorkshire regiment, who her Dad Warrant Officer Jamie Pearson serves with.

Little Troopers is hoping a lot of the images for next year's calendar will come from Wiltshire too, as founder Louise Fetigan explains:

"We know there is a huge military community across Salisbury Plain, which has expanded even further over the summer with the Army Rebasing Programme, so we would love to see military families from the area represented in next year's calendar.

"We want to see photos that encapsulate military life and celebrate the unique relationship that Armed Forces parents share with their children. Whether that's a big homecoming welcome following a long deployment, a garrison preschool class proudly dressed in uniform, a child waving to their parent a local military parade or simply a big family cuddle after a week on exercise. If it's a special military moment that makes you smile or brings a tear to your eye then Little Troopers want to hear from you."

The charity provides support and resources for military children, who have to face the unique challenge of their parents being away from home for prolonged periods of time, as well as frequent house and school moves.

They run services like the Little Troopers Treasures storytime app and the Little Troopers Separation Pack for families.

Money raised for the sales of the 'Military Moments' calendar will go towards their work.

This is the 8th year of the Little Troopers Calendar competition.

If you've got an image you'd like to submit for the calendar, you can email it to

You're also asked to include your name, address, regiment and base of the serving person, a contact phone number and the full names and ages of the Little Troopers featured.

Entries close on Thursday 12th September.

The charity will choose 13 pictures to be included (one for each month, plus the front cover) with the top three also winning a prize.

The winning families will be given cinema vouchers and a Little Troopers hoodie.
