Fancy a look around the Salisbury Guildhall prison cells?

Published at 2:44pm 20th August 2019.

After the unprecedented popularity of tours around the hidden history of the building last year, they're being brought back.

But the City Council's warning us to snap up the tickets for the Heritage Open Days quickly to avoid disappointment.

The tours this year will be held between Thursday 19th and Saturday 21st September at 10.00am and 2.00pm each day.

Salisbury Guidhall
It's a rare opportunity to let a look at some rarely seen parts of the Salisbury Guildhall building next month

It's our chance to take a look around the cells and lower tunnels beneath Salisbury Guildhall, which aren't ordinarily open to the public.

The tours will be led by the city's Blue Badge Guides, to answer visitors' questions about its history.

BOOK NOW

Spaces on the tours are limited, purely because of the space available to take people down into the tunnels.

You can book for the 10.00am slot on Thursday 19th, Friday 20th or Saturday 21st September on the City Council's Eventbrite page.

The tickets for the 2.00pm slot, also on Thursday 19th, Friday 20th or Saturday 21st September are available from the same website.

The Salisbury Guildhall tours are part of the national Heritage Open Days scheme, which is a 'celebration of England's architecture and culture'.
