The countdown's on to the latest event in Steeple Langford, with organisers keen to mark their special anniversary.

The Festival at the Langford Sports and Social Club started off with a couple of Army tents and 'some old blokes drinking ale, sitting on hay bales'...

But now, it's grown into a huge event for the village - and there's something for everyone.

The barrels will be ready for us to try out plenty of tipples!

This year's Festival takes place on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th September.

700 to 800 people are expected to go along across the weekend.

As well as more than 30 beers on site for visitors to sample, there's also been a gin tent for the last few years, a good choice of ciders and a wine bar.

There'll be plenty to entertain the crowds throughout the weekend

The Beer Festival was set up back in 2000 as a way of bringing the community together, but also to raise funds for local projects through the Langford Vision.

The key focus of that has been on providing a new cricket pavilion for the sports grounds the event's held on.

But they're also looking to help create affordable housing for the village too, as Phil Miles explains:

You can get hold of tickets for both days of the Langford Beer Festival online.

There's also a number of local ticket outlets:

  • Langford Club + Rainbow on the Lake, Steeple Langford
  • Wylye Post Office & Stores, Wylye
  • Riverside Service Station, Stapleford
  • The Wyndham Arms, Salisbury
  • The Fox & Hounds, Warminster
  • The Organ, Warminster
  • Caspers Cafe, Warminster Train Station

Tickets will also available on the door, but at an increased price.

There's more information about the Langford Beer, Gin and Cider Festival on their website.
