The popular romantic service returns for a fourth year with a new card featuring the lovable mascot.

Move over Cupid, there's a new four-legged matchmaker for 2020!

Stanley belongs to a well known family in the village and features in a new range of cards, the first of which is launched this year.

His owner Mar told Spire FM Stanley is much loved in the community.

"Stanley is well known around the village and loves welcoming people into the Valentine Post Office and being made a fuss of. He celebrates his 4th birthday this Valentine's day (along with the pop-up Post Office) and last year he made such an impression on one of our visitors from London that she sent him a birthday card!"

Last year Stanley became the star of the show when BBC Countryfile featured the Lover Village Valentine Post Service.

The TV show highlighted how the community had re started the post service for Valentine's Day eight years after the community's post office closed down.

Presenter John Craven was very taken with Stanley!

Nick Gibbs, Chair of the Lover Community Trust said:

"We are very proud of our mascot Stanley. The card's humour and charm will touch the hearts of many this Valentine's Day. The card also reflects a growing trend of people sending Valentine Cards not just to their loved ones but their much loved pets too."

The Lover Village Post Office opens its doors for business on the 8th February, based inside The Old School, in the heart of the village but you can purchase via the website now.

There are a range of cards and each one is stamped with the famous Lover postmark.

You'll have to be a quick with the 'Stanley says' cards as there are a limited number.

This year there is the option to personalise the message inside your card too.

New for 2020 is the Lover's Darling Cafe which will be set up within the pop-up post office which operates out of The Old School.

The cafe is named after the Darling family who live in the village and are keen bakers.

You'll be able to watch the Lover cupids at work as they process the cards ready for posting and if you're really lucky you might even get to meet Stanley!
