There4U is setting up a series of sessions to give people support through some important issues.

The family-run home care agency is launching the events next month to cover subjects that are sometimes overlooked, or forgotten about.

The sessions have been created to help those who might be concerned about issues surrounding end of life care, after getting plenty of questions from clients.

Elderly Care
The sessions will provide help on end of life care planning

Three evening meetings are being held at There4U's base at the Bluestone Centre, Solstice Park, Amesbury.

They're being held on Tuesday 4th February, Wednesday 4th March and Wednesday 1st April between 7.00 and 9.00pm.

There4U's base is in Solstice Park - where they'll be hosting the 'Talk Matters' sessions

Each of the sessions will cover a different subject, related to elderly care and end of life planning:

  • The first in February will be about exploring the important issues around end of life care and the sorts of things that need to be put into place, led by There4U staff
  • The March event will feature a funeral director, celebrant, retired Minister and staff from There4U to discuss funerals and memorials
  • The last session in April will include details from a solicitor and staff from There4U to talk about making wills and gaining power of attorney
Care Home Nursing
The sessions follows questions and comments from clients about how to prepare for the future

It's £10 per session to go along or £25 to book all three, with some light refreshments available.

To arrange your place, you can call There4U on 01722 774444 or visit their website for more information.

Director Jo Broom explains why they wanted to set up the sessions:

"Life is so hectic, we often don't give ourselves the opportunities or time to think about some of the big questions we carry around with us. We have recognised the concerns and questions many people have about end of life issues and want to offer a safe, supported environment to explore them."

The agency was set up in 2015 by mother and daughter Jo and Dana Broom.

They specialise in home care, with a focus on early intervention and 'preventing crises' for people needing support.

Elderly Older Person
The care provided by There4U runs through a huge spectrum of needs for older people

Their services range from home visits, respite, dementia and palliative care, through to housework and laundry, companionship and picking up some shopping.

There4U is rated as 'good' in all areas by the Care Quality Commission.
