Wiltshire Creative's young ambassadors are working on their 'Takeover Festival' for the Easter holidays.

The youngsters have been helped by a £5,000 grant from the Salisbury Area Board.

The money will be used to support their Takeover Festival. It'll focus on bringing young people aged 5-21 into the arts industry, not only as participants but also as decision makers.

The launch will include a morning of family activities, live music and an Open Mic session for budding young musicians and spoken word acts.

The 'TAKEOVER FESTIVAL' is planned for the Easter holidays, and officially launches at Salisbury Arts Centre on 7th March.

Young people have taken leading roles in organising the Festival and responsibilities for running the 10-day event over the Easter Holidays.

It'll feature youth-devised theatre performances, films, live events, and be an accessible experience for a wide range of participants, young people, and family audiences.

One Young Ambassador, aged 13 said:

"We think it is important to represent our generation. We will be encouraging friends, and other young people to express their creativity and use the arts as way to help our views and voices be heard."

The Young Ambassadors believe the arts need to be accessible to all people regardless of ability or background. The Festival will feature performances from Wiltshire Creative's four Youth Theatre satellite groups in Amesbury, Bemerton Heath, Exeter House and Tidworth.
