Little Troopers has been holding a community fundraiser as they step up their work in Salisbury Plain.

The event at The Beeches in Bulford was put together to give families a chance to get together over half term, build awareness of the charity and raise funds for them.

Activities like face painting, balloon modelling, crafts, colouring, a bake sale and a raffle were held to tempt people in.

The charity's says they had more than 100 people going along and raised £234 for Little Troopers.

That will go into their work with children from military backgrounds.

They provide support and resources for young people affected by military life and the unique challenges that brings.

There's a focus on helping children with issues like separation while their parents are away serving, and the anxieties of having to frequently move home and school.

Among their initiatives is a free storytime app which has been developed alongside children's publishers Harper Collins.

They also have the Little Troopers Treasures App, which keeps families connected during operational tours and exercises.

Late last year, they also launched new wellbeing courses for military children, with Bulford's Kiwi School among the first in the country to host the sessions.

Louise Fetigan, founder of Little Troopers, said their growing connections with Bulford are special:

"It was great to see so many families from the military community come together at the fundraiser. Their support means the world to us. Even the smallest of donations makes a big difference and enables us to continue our work helping all the special Little Troopers out there."
