Latest figures show audiences in Salisbury are choosing local radio for essential news and information more than ever.

Spire FM is a trusted source of news and information for audiences in Salisbury, providing essential local news and information on-air and online. 

Recent numbers show a huge increase in both online listeners and visitors to the Spire FM website as daily routines are disrupted and new working patterns formed.

Spire FM is not only broadcasting essential local news updates, but also entertaining and offering companionship for those who are spending more time at home.

In the last seven days, online radio listening for Spire FM is up 42% on the first week of March.  

With more people in Salisbury working from home, Spire FM online listening hours are also up 7% for the same time period. 


In the same week, smart speaker listening has seen a rise of 29%.  This includes Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices.

The free Spire FM App continues to provide breaking news alerts, ensuring the important local information is delivered quickly and directly to a users phone.  


Away from online listening, local news pages have seen record numbers of readers. 

The Spire FM website has seen a 92% increase in page views in the last week as audiences look for news they can trust.

More audiences are consuming Spire FM News online

There are now over 44,000 adults tuning in to Spire FM each week, according to the RAJAR numbers, which are announced each quarter.

That's an increase of 5,800 listeners per week, compared to the same period last year, making Spire FM the most listened to radio station in Salisbury.
