Salisbury doctors are reminding families they can continue to get medical advice while the lockdown is ongoing.

The city's Three Chequers Medical Practice got in touch with Spire FM to ask us to share the message.

Their partners have said:

"At this time of national focus on Covid-19, it is vitally important to remember that anyone, especially children, can still become seriously ill from other causes.

"Please do not let concerns over Covid-19 stop you from contacting medical services."

Parents are being encouraged to keep seeking help for medical issues for their children at this time

WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED MEDICAL HELP?

The advice from GPs is that there are a number of options for parents:

  • Go to the NHS website for advice
  • Call NHS 111
  • Contact your normal GP who can offer some support
  • If you're concerned about a crying baby, go to the NHS Healthier Together website
  • If a child is seriously unwell, call 999
  • A&E departments like Salisbury District Hospital remain open with separation for patients with Covid-19 symptoms

That's a message that's been reiterated by the NHS Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire CCG as well:

There's also more advice from the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust on their website
