The Middle Wallop attraction is hoping local knitters and crocheters might be able to help them with a new community project.

They're looking for people to create fabric medals that can be displayed at the site later this year as part of their Remembrance activities.

The mini medals, inspired by the Army Flying Museum's own collection, are set to be placed around the aircrafts exhibited there.

The project follows their knitted poppies project for last year's Remembrance.

They also asked crafters to help create some mini soldiers and airmen for another display earlier this year.

The knitted soldiers project has been running throughout this year so far

The Museum's Outreach programme says the medals are aimed at 'inspiring stories of courage, bravery and comradeship'.

DOWNLOAD YOUR KNITTING PATTERN

If you'd like to make some mini medals for the installation, you can download a copy of the knitting pattern.

You're also welcome to use your own pattern or imagination to make your own medals.

They all need to be with the Army Flying Museum by 1st November 2020.
