Bulford mum of 5 wins award after tragedy

Nicky Rae collected the Parent of the Year award after showing incredible bravery when her husband died unexpectedly.

Nicky woke up to discover her husband had passed away at just 46 years old while on a holiday in Ireland. 

In the face of horrible adversity, she's remained strong for her five children, one of which suffers from Asperger's, one from Ehler Danlos Syndrome while another has liver problems.

Nicky has helped her children cope with the loss of their father by encouraging her children to follow their dreams and return to education. 

Nominated by her eldest daughter Rhiannon, Nicky's has been described as "incredibly strong and resilient", and "couldn't have been a better mum".
