Salli Grant from Stoford near Salisbury has been rewarded for her work supporting people with heart problems.

The 'Cardiac Exercise Practitioner' has received a prestigious national award from the British Heart Foundation at a ceremony at the Imperial Research College London on 27th June.

It recognises 'exceptional individuals' and teams that go above and beyond to change the lives of people across the UK for the better.

Six years ago there was very little rehabilitation support in the area for patients who'd undergone treatment for a heart problem, so in 2007 Salli setup 'Happy Hearts Exercise and Support Group' starting with just one class.

She now runs 13 classes throughout the area offering a road to recovery for thousands of people. In addition Salli teaches her groups cardiopulmonary resuscitation, healthy living options, as well as inspiring them to raise funds for the Heart Foundation.

Commenting Salli has said; she counts herself very lucky to have the opportunity to work in partnership with so many different people across Wiltshire and the neighbouring counties and to really make a difference to many people's lives.
