Here's some news to celebrate for our local area!

One corner of South Wiltshire has been named as OFFICIALLY one of the top areas to call home in the whole country!

Tisbury (pictured here) has been included in the Sunday Times Best Places to Live Guide, which is being published this weekend (Sunday March 19th).

The survey takes into account things like jobs, school results, broadband speed, the variety of local shops and even community spirit, to come up with the rundown.

They also look at things like how many local pubs there are, the ease of getting public transport and how attractive properties are.

Only two places in Wiltshire make it onto the list at all - the other area being Marlborough.

There are a total 15 places in the whole of the South West in the elite list of places to call home.

Sunday Times Home Editor Helen Davies said:

"This is the fifth year we have compiled the list, and this year's is even bigger and better - the guide is more personal, more detailed and more comprehensive than ever before. The list weighs up everything from considering the likely impact of the local plan, to whether the post office is still open, the range of housing, and the quality of the coffee. Numbers on a spreadsheet can only tell us so much, so we carefully balance statistics with our writers' decades of knowledge and expertise to create the definitive list of the best places to live in the UK."
