A young motorcyclist from Wylye has died in hospital - five days after being seriously hurt in a crash on the A36.

21 year old Alex Brown (pictured here) was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital following the incident near the Crockerton roundabout at around 6.20pm on Saturday evening (August 5th).

He sadly passed away from his injuries yesterday (Thursday August 10th) with his family with him.

Alex's Kawasaki ZR800 motorcycle collided with an Audi A3 car as they were both travelling eastbound, towards Salisbury.

The car driver, a man in his 60s, wasn't injured.

Alex's family have released the following tribute, via Wiltshire Police:

"It is with great sadness that on the 10th August 2017, Alex passed away with his loved ones by his side.

"He was the most loving, outgoing and compassionate young man who thought that life was worth living and had so many plans for the future.

"He will be sorely missed by all his friends and family and remain within their hearts forever.

"We would like to thank all the members of public who helped Alex at the scene of the collision and the subsequent healthcare professionals who tried so hard to help him."

Officers are still asking any witnesses to the crash to come forward with any information, if you can help, you can contact them on 101 or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
