She's gone from drinking it to creating it! - Meet Kate Griffin the mum behind Salisbury's very own gin.

Spire Gin has been created in collaboration with a local chocolate company using some of the same botanicals as Alderbury based Alexander Chocolate.

The key ingredient in the Salisbury tipple is verbena.

It's the second spirit Kate has created, back in February she launched Test Valley Gin from her home in Monxton.

Spire Gin is best served with a good tonic and a thin strip of grapefruit zest to bring out the floral and lemon characteristics of it.

WHERE CAN I GET A BOTTLE?

You can get your hands on Spire Gin via theginstall.co.uk from tomorrow!  (Weds 8th)

You can also contact Kate directly at the moment on kate.griffin@testvalleygin.co.uk but there will shortly be a dedicated website to buy directly from.

£1 from every bottle from Spire Gin goes to Spire Smiles a charity set up to the cleft centre at Salisbury District Hospital. Kate has chosen this charity as her daughter was born with a cleft lip.

ALEXANDER CHOCOLATE:

Alexander Seaton also launched his company back in February. You can find out more about his handmade chocolates here: alexanderchocolate.co.uk
