Hive of activity in the town as police search for a "wanted person".

A huge hunt has been taking place in Fordingbridge on Wednesday evening (24th January).

Officers, including the dog unit and the police helicopter have been involved in the search for a "wanted person."

Police units have been present at Provost Street and at the car park near the rec.

An eye witness has told Spire FM "Fordingbridge Junior and Infant School is being searched by officers with high powered flashlights".

Several residents say they've been advised to keep their windows and doors locked.

Hampshire Constabulary isn't revealing any more details at present but it's understood they're looking for a man who has been on the force's wanted list for some time.

The force says speculation on social media that a shooting has taken place is unfounded.
