Hunt in Fordingbridge area for wanted man ends

A huge police operation has taken place to locate and arrest a 21 year old man wanted for a string of burglaries.

A man wanted by police has now been arrested.

Last night (24th January) a huge operation took place in Fordingbridge involving the dog unit and police helicopter.

Fordingbridge Junior and Infant School was among the locations searched, officers were also seen scouring the River Avon with torchlight.

Police units were also present at Provost Street and the car park near the Rec.

Hampshire Constabulary had been looking for William Sheen.

The 21 year old is wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in the New Forest area last year.

Anyone who had seen William Sheen, or knew where he was, was being urged NOT to approach him but call police immediately on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Dial 999 in the event of an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
