A woman's been bitten by a dog while she was out running in Wilton.

This happened at around 7.00pm on 30th January - with police now releasing the details.

The victim was going along Russell Street, towards the A30, when she was passed by another woman and her dog.

The dog, described as being a Staffordshire bull terrier type, jumped at the woman, but she kept on running.

It wasn't until the victim got home that she released that she'd suffered a bite wound.

That injury to her leg needed hospital treatment.

Wiltshire Police has given us a description of the dog walker involved and the animal itself - the woman's described as:

  • Wearing a light-coloured puffa jacket
  • Red or auburn coloured hair which was tied up
  • The dog is a white Staffie-type

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact PCSO Nicola Clark, from Wiltshire South Community Policing Team, on 101.
