Police officers abused and assaulted on Salisbury cordon

It's the second time this month that they have been subject to abuse whilst manning the cordons around Salisbury.

A man's been charged following an incident which saw two police officers and a police staff member manning one of the cordons in Salisbury, being abused and assaulted.

It happened yesterday (Monday 19th March) at around 5.00pm at the Zizzi restaurant on Castle Street.

56-year-old  Kim Rogerson, from Wyndham Road in Salisbury, has now been charged with assaulting a police officer, assaulting a police staff member, being drunk and disorderly in a public place and a racially-aggravated public order offence.

He's been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court next month,

Police officers on duty in the city are assisting with the ongoing investigation into the attempted murder of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

This is the second time since the investigation began that police officers have been abused whilst manning the cordons, which you read more on here.
