Firefighters have declared the building safe after the incident at the Tinkerbell garage at Barford St Martin.

A Barford St Martin house has been declared safe after a car went into the side of it yesterday afternoon (Sunday April 15th).

The bungalow next to the Tinkerbell Service Station on the A30 (pictured here) was struck by a grey Volkswagen Polo at around 4.40pm.

It hit a single storey extension to the building after being shunted by a blue Citroen Berlingo.

Police and fire crews were called out to help, but luckily both drivers suffered only minor injuries in the incident.

Firefighters also assessed the damage to the structure of the wall, but were happy that it was safe.

Both cars were recovered and the scene cleared by 8.15pm.

The area was very busy while the emergency services were on the scene though, with cars turning off to use the service station, and its location along the main road.
