Planning permission's been approved for Revolution to open a bar on Blue Boar Row, in the space where Pizza Hut's been for years.

Salisbury could be in line for a new bar in the next little while - at the expense of a long standing restaurant in the city.

Revolution has had planning permission approved for a change of use in the building on Blue Boar Row that's currently Pizza Hut (pictured here) to open a new venue.

The national chain, which has branches in Southampton, Bath and Bournemouth amongst around 50 others, asked Wiltshire Council to give the go ahead for a two storey bar and restaurant.

The group say on their website that their bars are 'predominantly in town or city high streets, combining both a food-led and drinks-led offering, typically trading from late morning, during the day and into the late evening'.

They had originally put in an application to open until 2.00am Monday to Saturday and 1.00am on Sunday.

But the approval now comes with a condition that they can only open until midnight each night.

That change comes following concerns from local residents and businesses about noise levels and anti-social behaviour.

There's no word yet on when the changes might happen - and therefore when the pizza restaurant would close in the city centre.

Spire FM News has asked both Pizza Hut and Revolution Bars for a comment.
