Man critical after Salisbury assault

A man in his 50s has been attacked outside a Wilton Road pub in the early hours of Friday (April 20th).

A man's been left in a critical condition in hospital after being assaulted in Salisbury.

The victim, who's in his 50s, was attacked by a man on Wilton Road at around 1.20am on Friday morning (April 20th).

It happened outside the Halfway House pub and the culprit, who was on his own, is believed to have run away in the direction of Bemerton Heath afterwards.

Wiltshire Police have now launched an appeal for information about the assault from both witnesses and anyone who might know where the attacker went afterwards.

Wilton Road is often busy, with cars regularly using the road even at that time of night.
