The roadworks on Milford Mill Road in Salisbury have been causing some serious traffic problems and sadly, it's set to continue.

Wiltshire Council has been working on the popular cut through from Laverstock to Southampton Road for the last five weeks (since April 9th).

The roadworks were due to be completed by the end of next week, but we're told they've been delayed until possibly the middle of June.

Here's the latest statement from Wiltshire Council:

"Due to unforeseen complications with utility connections it is very likely we will require at least a three week extension."

This work includes widening some of the road and installing traffic signals at the Railway Bridge near the junction of Petersfinger Road and Millford Mill Road as well as associated works to aid traffic flows.

It's believed the work will help with the increased traffic that could be caused by the development works of the Premier Inn and McDonalds on Southampton Road.

The road closure has been leading to long traffic delays throughout though, particularly at College roundabout and tailing back towards the Alderbury bypass during the morning and evening rush hour.

Keep an eye on the travel situation on the dedication section on our website.
