Two boys have been punched and one had his iPhone stolen by some older youths along the main road from Tidworth.

A teenager's been mugged and his friend assaulted in what police are describing as a 'nasty, unprovoked' incident in Ludgershall.

A group of boys, all aged 14 to 16, were walking along the main road from Tidworth towards Ludgershall, near to the Wellington Academy, last Sunday evening (6.30pm, June 10th).

They were approached by five older youths - one black and four white, with a number of them wearing tracksuits.

They grabbed one of the boys, demanded his iPhone 6 and then punched him in the face.

One of his friends was also punched and kicked.

The boy who had his phone stolen ran home to tell his dad, who came out and confronted the older youths - they dropped the handset and ran away.

PC Ian Cooke, from Wiltshire South Community Policing Team, said:

"This was a nasty, unprovoked robbery and assault on a group of teenagers.

"Luckily they weren't seriously injured but it was a frightening incident and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify those responsible."
