Man bitten by dog as he breaks up fight in Salisbury park

The victim's been left with puncture wounds and bruising to his ribs after being attacked by one of the dogs involved.

A man's been injured after breaking up a fight between two dogs in a Salisbury park.

The victim, who's in his 50s, was walking his dog off the lead in the Greencroft last Friday evening (8.30pm, June 8th) when it happened.

His dog went to see another, possibly a black Labrador cross also off its lead, and they began fighting.

The man stepped in to break them up but the Labrador jumped up at bit him on the ribs - leaving him with two puncture wounds and bruising that required medical treatment.

His jacket was also damaged.

Police are looking to speak to the owner of the Labrador - she's described as:

  • White
  • Aged in her late 20s or early 30s
  • Around 5 fett 10 tall
  • Slim build
  • Blonde, shoulder length hair
  • Wearing jeans
  • Short sleeved top


A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said:

"It's believed there were a couple of teenagers nearby who may have witnessed the incident and we are keen to speak to them, as well as anyone else who was in the area or who may know who the woman involved is.

"We would encourage all dog owners to be aware of the law which states it is illegal to let a dog be dangerously out of control anywhere, such as a public place, a private area such as a neighbour's house or garden or an owner's home."
