Two people have been arrested and a paintball gun seized.

Police received a call at 7.40am this morning (5th October) to reports that a man had fired a weapon at a bin in St Gregory's Avenue in Salisbury.

The man was thought to be driving a red vehicle.

Armed officers attended because of the reports that the suspect had a weapon.

Following enquiries, police then cordoned off a property in Amesbury where they seized a paintball gun.

A 24 year old woman and a 36 year old man have been arrested, both on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.

They've been taken into custody at Melksham.
