The event in the Market Square won't be going ahead today (Friday October 12th) - Rock in the Square is also OFF!

Foodie Friday's been held on the second Friday of the month throughout the summer, put on by Salisbury City Council.

Today's was due to be the last one of the season, but the arrival of Storm Callum has put paid to that.

The City Council has tweeted about the cancellation:

We're expecting heavy rain throughout Friday, along with winds of up to 40 miles per hour.

There's more on the weather on our web page.

There's also been a live music event planned for the Market Square from 6.00pm this evening.

Salisbury Market Square June 2017
Salisbury's Market Square was set to be a hive of activity today, but the weather's had other ideas!

The 'Rock the Square' event had been rescheduled from August, when the event was postponed due to poor weather.

Bands Big Dog, Break Cover, Lump and Cressers Last Stand were on the line-up.

We've been told that it's now been called off - here's the statement from organiser Colin Holton:

"Regrettably we have taken the decision to cancel this evenings ‘Rock the Square’ music event in the Market Square on health and safety grounds. It is due to the risk to the staging structure from the extreme wind and rain conditions as forecast."
