There's been confusion over whether we have to pay for parking in Culver Street car park in particular.

Wiltshire Council re-introduced charges across all off-road car parks at the beginning of October - making it free after 3.00pm every day.

Normal charges apply until 3.00pm Monday to Sunday.

But before the nerve agent incident back in March, using Culver Street car park on Sundays was free all day.

There have been comments on social media from local drivers about it being 'unfair' and 'greedy' to bring in charges on Sundays once again.

Wiltshire Council has told the reason behind the change:

"The historic free parking initiative in Culver Street was funded by Wiltshire Council through a partnership agreement with the Salisbury BID. The agreement expired at the end of August.

"The charges at Culver Street have brought it in line with all Wiltshire Council car parks in Salisbury city centre. Shoppers can benefit from the free after 3pm parking every day, including Sundays, right up to Christmas Eve."

Park and ride services from all five sites around Salisbury remain free, all day, Monday to Saturday.
