Woman airlifted to hospital after A338 crash at Newton Tony

Three other people have been injured in the incident, which left the road closed for over 6 hours.

A Mercedes and a Volkswagen were involved in the crash at the Allington Road junction yesterday afternoon (Monday November 12th) at around 1.20pm.

Police, fire and rescue and four ambulance vehicles and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service tell us three people had to be cut free fro the car they were in.

One female had to be airlifted to Salisbury District Hospital with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries.

Two other patients were taken to Salisbury District Hospital by land ambulance for what are believed to be minor injuries.

One person was also treated by paramedics at the scene.

Wiltshire Police were able to re-open the road at 7.45pm.

They're now appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or saw either of the cars in the lead-up to what happened, to get in touch with them.
