Olympic medal winning sprint hurdler Colin Jackson did the honours to officially see in the festive season.

The Salisbury City Council event last night (Thursday November 15th) was one of the busiest we've seen in recent years.

Live music on stage from acts like Sticky Toffee Jazz, the Salisbury and Romsey Rock Choirs and ABBA's Angels, as well as the fireworks display from the roof of the Guildhall tempted in the crowds.

The lights themselves were switched on by former World Champion athlete turned sports commentator Colin Jackson.

He spoke to Spire FM about his time in the city, as well as his thoughts on this year's Strictly Come Dancing contestants and a look ahead to next year's Olympics:
