It's the final few weeks of the DIY store being open on Southampton Road, with a new shop set to go in there.

Homebase is understood to have its final day of opening on the 7th December.

Spire FM revealed in August that the Southampton Road store was on the list of 42 branches of the DIY chain to be shutting.

The retailer is closing the stores via a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA), a controversial insolvency procedure used by struggling firms to shut under-performing shops.

The CVA mechanism has already been used by retailers including Carpetright, Mothercare and New Look this year.

They have 16 different departments from furniture to DIY to art supplies.

The nearest stores to us at the moment are Bournemouth, Southampton and Andover.
