A 35-year-old is currently in custody in connection with the investigation.

The body of a woman, in her 30s, was found at an address in Bence Court on Friday afternoon (30th November).

Her death is being treated as unexplained.

The 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody at Melksham Police Station.

Officers are keeping an open mind about whether there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Detective Inspector Gemma Davies, from the Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team, said:

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their support and patience while our enquiries are continuing.

"People in the local area are likely to see an increased police presence as the investigation takes place.

"I would urge anyone with information to come forward now - any information, regardless of how insignificant you think it might be, could be crucial to this investigation."

A 51-year-old man was arrested at the weekend but has now been released from custody and is being treated as a witness in the investigation.

Anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact the Brunel MCIT team on 101, quoting Operation Majesty.
